Frankfurt Rhein-Main

In the terminal I headed to customs and was on my way to Terminal 1 via the Tunnel between Terminal A and B.

Although my gate was A 1, I went to the Lounge near Gate A 25 and signed the shower list.

I took a mineral water and sit down and just relax for some minutes. Half and hour later and without any announcement about showers I had a look at the shower rooms and asked the women working in this part of the lounge, if a shower was free. I was told, that now a shower was free, so I took a short shower to refresh myself; but I could not imagine, that all showers was occupied for thirty minutes; I just think, she forgot to make an announcement or to look at the list. The rest of the time I was sitting in the lounge an waiting for my following flight.

As it is just a distance from the lounge to the gate, I headed some minutes prior to boarding time in direction Gate A 1.

Boarding was a little bit late, but the flight was earlier scheduled than in the timetable, which causes by several passengers some requests to the lounge staff, if their boarding pass was correct – I noticed this in the lounge. We had to walk to the plane, as the gangway was out of order. On the way to the plane I phoned my friend to tell him, we were in time and I told him to pick me up in DUS at 9.30 p.m.

Business Class was 85% full, but with the free middle seat no problem. The service was efficient and snack boxes were distributed. This time, it contents of two pralines and an baguette. I had a bitter lemon and just watched out of the window, at we had nice views on Germany in the time of sundown and beginning night. I like this views with its city lights and also I had my first ever view of Frankfurt in the night in over 12 years of flying as we started and turned to Frankfurt. Passing the Messeturm I could see the Marriott and this time I was in one of the starting planes I watched during several stays in this hotel in Frankfurt.
The flight was uneventful, the crew work efficient and very fast, serving the passengers and collecting snack boxes.

We landed in Düsseldorf some minutes early and soon later we had a parking position at one of the Gates near the main building. I needed this time some seconds to leave the plane and headed to the belt.

The belt started some minutes after I arrived and again just a few pieces of luggage passes by as the trolley of my friend arrives. At 9.32 p.m. I passes customs and my friend just arrives at this moment – quite a good timing. We went to his car (no Lexus this time, “only”a Vectra), as you need not to pay anything in the first 15 minutes.
