I went downstairs to the G level and this time on the left side were some lines while the right side, where the First Class section is located the lines were nearly empty. I passed it quickly (had to put of my shoes) and went to the lounge.

I would have gotten a seat on the earlier flight, but had to pay more than 200 EUR, which I decided not to do. A wait of 40 minutes seemed okay, so I went upstairs in the FTL part of the lounge, took a seat and an espresso and relaxed.

I headed for the gate at 20:40, but boarding had not started yet. The gate agent informed us, our plane was parked at a postion on the tarmac and therefore a bus would wait downstairs. As boarding started I used the self check in, which is a really nice feature, as still some passengers are not firm how to use it. Downstairs the doors were closed and we had to wait until it was finally opened by another agent.

Our plane, an Airbus A 320 had two staircases aside and knowing that 24 D is in the back I took the staircase on the back while the most other passengers took the one at the front.

My seat neighbour was at his seat and so I put my stuff in the overhead bin. The middle seat remained empty.

The plane was nearly 80% full with three giggling girls sitting across the aisle on the other side. They talked very lound and about silly things and it seem they disturbed not only me but also other passengers. Luckily, they stopped after take-off.

We were pushed back in time and airborne ten minutes later on our short hop to Düsseldorf. As this was only a domestic flight, there was only one beverage round and I take a coffee and a sparkling water and continue to read in the issue of the FAZ. My seat mate and I used the tray table of the middle seat, so he could work on his laptop and I read.

The flight was a bit bumpy and fasten seat belt sign were switched on the whole flight. We touched down at 21:50 and were at our gate five minutes later. Being in the back, it took quite a bit before I finally could leave the plane. As I had not checked luggage, I must not wait and passed customs. A 25 minutes drive and I was home.
