Dallas Fort Worth
I used the train which connects the terminals and arrived at gate A 10 app. 15 minutes later around 15:30. I thought about checking if I could use the Admirals Club with my Priority Pass but decided against and took a seat at the gate area.
The agent appeared and at least this flight seemed to be in time.
Boarding began right in time and from my impression it was faster than on United and Lufthansa. As it was my turn I was stopped and asked to check my bigger hand luggage, as I had a laptop and another small bag. I told that this was never a problem, even on AA’s flight from IAH to DFW but the agent insisted of it. Gate checking was not possible.

The flight was pushed back right in time. Again the safety demonstration was done by the flight attendants during push back.
We rolled to the runway and took of at 16:50.
Roughly around 40 minutes after take off the beverage service started. From what I saw, passengers in First were served by a single flight attendant and got food, while two flight attendants served Economy. We had the choice of soft drinks and food for purchase. Food for purchase meant in this case potato chips, cookies for 3 USD and a wrap for 5 USD. Alcoholic beverage was available for 2 USD. Like on any American Airlines I got some diet coke to my ice, at least I got the whole can.
There was no other beverage round and after the service items were cleared there was no additional service for the remaining flight time.
I read my book which I finished just before we began our final approach into SAN. The approach was a bit bumpy. We touched down at 18:05 and arrived at our gate three minutes later. To me, the first time at San Diego’s Terminal 2.
It took app. ten minutes before the luggage made it on the belt, but luckily my luggage was among the first.
I took it and headed for the pick up point for the hotel shuttles.
