On February 2nd 2009 Lufthansa started its service from Milan Malpensa Airport on a Lufthansa subsidiary company LHItalia. Reason enough to book flights on the first flight, which was the service from Milan to Barcelona. Flights to Milan out of Düsseldorf as well as to Barcelona from Milan were available for 99 EUR each, so a few flyertalker and I  decided to  book this inaugural service.

Unfortunately this was the day with a lot of snow in Europe causing a closing of London's Heathrow Airport and severe delays in other hubs like Paris and Milan and also causing some major delays across Europe. Therefore our trip did not run as smoothly as planned.
