Fellow flyertalker airoli moved to Montreal in 2009 and of course I wanted to visit him in Canada. rcs85551 would like to join us in Montreal and so the date was set around some holiday days in Germany. While rcs85551 was flying on the direct LH flight MUC-YUL, I decided to save some money and flew on the cheaper fare on United via ORD to YUL with the flight FRA-ORD the day before we meet in Montreal. I had an overnight transfer in Chicago to give the IC O’Hare another try.

I was also able to stay two days longer in Montreal than rcs85551 and flew the same way back, i.e. via ORD. On the flight from ORD-FRA I got my first operational upgrade to Business Class on United. It was however the old Business Class, since FRA is served on a 777, but on an operational-upgrade I really did not care that much.

It was a very nice trip and we made a short day trip to Quebec by car from Montreal, so I got a lot to see in this short time and also discovered Montreal, which I also liked.

A new trip to Montreal is already booked for June 2010.
