Conclusion

Given that this was an saver award and only 60000 US Airways miles, it was a good deal and a cheap way to try the new Business Class. The old Envoy Class is nothing to write home about, though the seats offer a lot of seat pitch and were quite comfortable, okay for a day flight, but probably not very appealing on a night flight.

The new Envoy seat is very good; it is flat and offers enough space for a good night’s sleep and much privacy. However, if one is traveling together the massive part at in the upper part of the seat makes it difficult to talk to the seat neighbor, as one has to lean forward which is okay for a short time but not so much for a longer time. I would rate it better than the old Business Class of Lufthansa and also better than the Business Class in British Airways, as the seat has more space. It is aux pare with the LX Business Class seat.

The service and the food were quite good and it seems I have been either lucky in the past or the crews of US Airways are friendlier than their colleagues of United Airlines and sometimes than those of Lufthansa.

I would fly them again without hesitation.
