IBIS Frankfurt Centrum
(former Friedensbrücke)
The IBIS Friedensbrücke is located in walking distance to Frankfurt Main Station at the banks of river Main and close the Museumsufer and just a short ride by subway to downtown Frankfurt. If you arrive by train you probably could walk, if you arrive by plane take a S-Bahn or train to main station.
If you arrive by car, you might consider a hotel which is more easily reachable by car. Otherwise follow the signs to main station and you will find signs to the hotel along the strees near main station, there are signs indicating the way to the hotel.
The Hotel is opened in the mid 80ies as an Arcade Hotel and rebanded after the acquisition of the Pullman Group by Accor in the late 90ies. It is designed like many former Arcade Hotels and is constructed in T shape with the most rooms facing River Main. You enter the hotel through a sliding door and find the reception and check in area left hand side.
On the other side is the smal restaurant, where breakfast is served and where also some light snacks and drinks are available. A separate bar area is around some sort of atrium.
Breakfast is served as a continental breakfast. In addition to the regular items (roll, jam / maremalde, cheese), boiled eggs, cereals also mozzarella cheese with tomatoes were served. Tee and Coffe are available as self service. The rate for breakfast was 9,00 EUR
A parking garage is available for 8,00 EUR / day.

Unlike other hotels of the IBIS brands, this hotels differs between single and double rooms. I have booked a single and got a single room facing the Main. You open the door to the room with the keycard, which has to put with the “hotelname” upside down into the door handle, which is not very logical.
Check in was a bit slow. One member of staff was looking at his colleague instead of check-in me in or telling me she is unable to do so. The worst thing one could do as staff member is to do nothing and ignore the guest.
You enter the room and you are right inside it. On one side of the room is the clothes rack. This part is very small and you have not much place to hang clothes or place you suitcase as there is no real cupboard in the room.
On the opposite side side is the (single) bed and beside it the working desk.
The bathroom with shower cabin, sunk and toilet is in the part facing the outside. The bathroom is very small, there are no bathroom amenities, the shower gel is placed in the shower cabin and beside the sunk. A mirror is behind the sunk, but there is no hairdryer. If you need one, you could get it at check-in. There is not much room behind the sunk (app. 60 cm / 32 inch bw. door and sunk). The shower curtain is okay as the shower head is, but the shower curtain causes blowing into the shower some trouble if
you open the window of the bathroom
The bed is okay, a bedside tables with a reading lamp and a central switch for the lights in the rooms are placed at the bed. .
A working desk with a chair is in front of the window with a LAN connection and a power outlet. A small television is placed aside the clothes rack, so you can easily watch tv from the bed.
Turndown service is not offered, but you would not expect it in an IBIS hotel.
It is just a room to sleep and perhaps do some work. I have to admit, that I got smaller working desks in high end hotels than in this hotel. If you do not need a minibar, pool and fitness facilities and just a place to sleep, this is you choice of hotel in Frankfurt , especially as the staff is very friendly and helpful. As con is one or two more clothing hooks in the room would be nice.
Breakfast was okay, staff was very fast in clearing used dishes though only one staff member was serving.
Prices vary depending on the time you stay there. It's close to main station and “Museumsufer”,but you might check the rates of the Express by Holiday Inn Messe, which is a bit more far away (five – ten minutes by bus) , but sometimes cheaper and incl. breakfast in the rates.
